[HOME] [CHURCH] [FAMILY] [STATE] [MEMORIAL INDEX]
Revised 17 May 2017
|It seemed fitting to do a major update to this page since this is the weekend of Labor Day. This is but a sampling of the wonderful people who spent their lives in Christ and worked to keep First Church alive.
If you wish to leave a memorial to these wonderful people, checks may be sent in their honor to the First Congregational Church of Los Angeles, 540 S. Commonwealth Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90020-1298. Please specify the person for whom the memorial is intended. Our flowers and Altar candles are also dedicated in memory of loved ones each Sunday. For further information on how to do this, contact June Flowers, 213.385.1341. There is a nominal fee for this dedication to cover our costs. The name of your loved one is then published in our Meetinghouse, indicating the memorial, and their names are read from the lectern as the donors for the flowers or candles of the day. Your options are for Altar Candles, the Chancel Arch flowers and the Altar Candles. June will be able to tell you what dates are available. At Christmas, our hanging wreaths are also available as memorials. The wreaths stay up for the entire advent season.
|I apologize if I leave anyone off of this list. I am going mostly from memory and don't want to accidentally list someone who is still living or miss anyone. If you have a name you would like added to this list, please contact me at: firstname.lastname@example.org and I will add your friend or family member to this list. Obituaries and photographs are helpful. As is my usual policy, information regarding the living, will not be included to protect their privacy. This database has gotten so large that it needed to be separated by by the alpha letters.
If you know someone who was a frequent visitor to First Church and has passed on and you would like to add their name to this page, I am more than happy to add them upon request. Information on these pages are taken from the Los Angeles Times Historic Collection, the Social Security Death Index and funeral notices of First Congregational Church and many other sources.. As this section grows, the alphabet sections will be split off into separate pages.
